| Nanney, Marion Marion Nanney, Production Supervisor on the Low Bay, who retired from the Chicago Stamping Plant about 12 years ago, passed away in Tennessee on March 1, 2005. He was 69. Mr. Nanney is survived by a son, Wayne Nanney of Georgetown, Texas; three daughters, Linda Pitcher of St. Johns, Indiana, Connie Nanney of Austin, Texas, and Elizabeth Heath of McKenzie; two brothers, Frank Nanney of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, Fred Brown of Ardmore, Oklahoma; a sister, Margaret Sporeleader of Colquitt, Georgia; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Friday, March 4, 2005 at Enon Baptist Church in McKenzie, TN. Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie. | Neeley, Billy Joe Billy Joe Neeley, age 70, of Lake Village, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 in an automobile accident in which his brother, Jack, also died. He was a Retired Welder at the Chicago Stamping Plant and a member of UAW Local 588. Mr. Neeley is survived by his wife, Patricia. His children, Bill D. (Barbara) Neeley of DeMotte, Gary (Nikki) Neeley of Crown Point, Tim (fiance' Tiffany Smith) Neeley of Lake Village and Jeremy (fiance' Rachel Byars) Neeley of Lake Village; his grandchildren; Brandon (Crystal), Tanya (Keith), Jake and Jordan and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Viola Neeley of New Mexico, formerly of Gary; his brothers, Roy (Effie) Neeley of Florida, Robert (Marsha) Neeley of New Mexico, John (Carole) Neeley of Schererville and Charles Neeley of New Mexico; his sisters, Judy (Louis) Varella of Portage, Janis (Jesse) Norman of Portage and Vicki (Robby) Cooke of New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Neeley and his brother, Jack Neeley. Visitation will be on Monday, February 9th, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. (one mile south of Rt. 30), Schererville, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 with Rev. Mike Sims and Rev. Tommy Doughty officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Neeley was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Gary. He had a great love of cars and he loved to fish. |
| Nelson, Charles Edgar Charles Edgar Nelson, 61, a retired Welder Repairman, passed away December 23, 2003 at Carteret General Hospital, Moorhead City, NC. He also served as an EAP Rep. He had worked at the Chicago Stamping Plant and was a member of UAW Local 588 for 33 years. Mr. Nelson served the Boy Scouts of America as Scoutmaster and District Commissioner. He loved to fish and loved the company of friends, making new friends easily even with folks that he had just met. He lived to tinker in wood and metal projects in his workshop. He was a recovering alcoholic who passed on clean and sober after 28 years of sobriety. Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife of 41 years, Winifred Nelson; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Maria Nelson of Dale City, Virginia; his mother, Marjorie Zawada of Chicago; his father, Leroy Nelson of California; two sisters, Maureen Koesema and Barbara Garner, both of Chicago; three brothers, Lee Nelson of Arkansas, Edward Nelson and John Zawada both of Chicago; three grandchildren, Zachary, Victoria and Adrianna Nelson and many friends throughout the country who will miss him dearly. | Newman, Harry C. Harry C. Newman of Beecher, IL, died April 30, 2003 at Ingalls Hospice in Harvey. He was 74. Mr. Newman was a retired Welder Repairman at the Stamping Plant and a member of the UAW Local 588. He is survived by his wife Kathleen of Beecher; five sons, Mark Newman of Arkansas, Joseph Newman of Florida, John and Lisa Newman of Lansing, IL, Daniel Newman of Galesburg, IL and Steven Newman of Beecher. He is also survived by three daughters, Yolanda and Dave Zanaglia of Champaign, IL, Robin and Don Blecha of Coal City, IL and Nancy Newman of Park Forest, IL; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Harold and Jean Newman of Lindenhurst, IL, and Ivan Newman of Cairo, IL; and 11 grandchildren. One brother, Roy Newman, is deceased. Mr. Newman served in the Marines. He was an enthusiastic owner of Thoroughbred horses and was well known at Uncle John's Flea Market, Cedar Lake, IN. | Nicks, Donald A. Donald A. Nicks, 82, of Rochester, IN, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at his home. Mr. Nicks was a former Tool & Die Machinist at the Stamping Plant and a member of UAW Local 588. He is survived by his former wife, Ann Nicks, and six of their seven children; one daughter, Debi (Paul) Jean, of Crete, IL; five sons, Donald, Jr. (Sara) Nicks, of Florida City, FL, Dan Nicks, of Rochester, IN, Dennis (Maryanne) Nicks of Cedar Lake, IN, Darrell (Mary) Nicks of Woodstock, IL, and Dale (Kim) Nicks of Hebron, IN; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, David Nicks in 1991. Mr. Nicks served as a chief machinist in the US Navy during World War II in the South Pacific Theater. He lived in the Rochester community after moving from Glenwood, IL in 1965. He was also owner and operator of D.N. & Sons, Plumbing Co., Glenwood, IL. Military gravesite services were conducted Friday, December 9, 2005 at Athens Hoover Cemetery, by the LeRoy Shelton American Legion Post No. 36 and the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No. 1343. The Rev. | Nielsen, Harold Harold W. Nielsen, 84, of Crete, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, following a short illness. Mr. Nielsen was a retired electrician from the Stamping Plant and a member of UAW Local 588. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Gail Nielsen of Matteson; two daughters, Susan Nielsen (James Yodual) of Monee, and Judith Nielsen of Park Forest; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Howard Nielsen of Dyer, Ind. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene and his parents, Emile and Sigrid Nielsen. Mr. Nielsen retired after working for Ford Motor Company for 25 years. He served during World War II in the Army Air Corps and he loved fishing, electronics and working on kit cars. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, February 27th at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. Funeral services will be held there on Monday at 10 a.m. Rev. Curt Boyer will officiate. Burial will be in Clifton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family's wishes. |
| Niemojuski, Norbert “Pat” Norbert "Pat" Niemojuski, 78, retired tool and die leader on 17 and 18 lines and a member of UAW Local 588, passed away early Sunday morning, October 1, 2006. He worked for Ford Motor Company for 48 years, retiring in June, 2004. Mr. Niemojuski was preceded in death two and a half years ago by his wife of 53 years, Bertha. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Warren Clausing, and their daughter, Kristen, with whom he lived following his wife's death. He was also preceded in death by his parents and three older brothers. He is survived by three sisters. Funeral arrangements were handled by Thornridge Funeral Home, Orland Park, IL. Visitation was held on October 5, 2006. Burial at Cedar Park Cemetery in Calumet Park, IL was private. |
